The hand throttle only affects engine speed by opening up the throttle plates in the carbs - same as your gas pedal. The choke actually changes the fuel mixture. It does this by lowering the nozzles

Sounds like an easily reversed modification to me. The only way to tell what's best for your carbs /enigne mods ("stuff" as you say <G>) /climate/ etc is to try it & find out. Laurie :-) 70 SPL311 69
