I don't know about the 289, but I know of a VERY late production run Mk2 with a $5000 grill, and a 428CJ installed at the dealer. See, there was this shortage of engines........yeah, that's it.....

I had a Torker on a 289 that I had in my cars about 15 years ago with the offset carb positioning, and it worked very well. Edelbrock makes a new Torker the I haven't tried, as well as the Performer
