My Canadian built '48 has the bracket mounting on the front of the stake pocket as well. As well as being better protected they look a lot better with the lenses flush with the tailgate. Alan Gingles

On our trip through the NW states we averaged 17-18 mpg/US at 70 mph in our '48 Chevy with a 350 4bbl./turbo 350. That works out to 23-24 mpg/Canadian gallon, which really isn't that bad. Alan Gingle
