While it's true that CD's have a tendency to not sound like vinyl, you have to understand that vinyl records had a stronger tendency to not sound much like the master tapes from which they were made.

My favorite Dealer was Lee Allen Imports in Chicago. Lee carried MG, Austin Healey, Triumph, Jaguar, Mercedes, and Studebaker. I think in those days you had to take Studebaker to get Mercedes. BZ

It sounds like the hole for the temp sending unit. If you have an early car that had it in the radiator, you'll have to plug one of the holes. I think they work better in the head.
