The "support peice" should come out still bolted to the tranny. There are 4 bolts holding the support peice. Two are easily seen from underneath the car. They are in the bottom pans at the front end

Why make these a RPITA to get out next time you have to? Forget the Loctite. Just torque them properly (I just did this at 22 ft lbs) and be careful to alternate when you tighten the bolts to be sure

Hi Jay, I wasn't too clear there, was I? Four total bolts, two of each length, same thread on all. They are smaller than the 5/16-24 that held the original radiator in so I'm guessing maybe 1/4-28? C
