Allen, I'm not sure about the numbers, but the earlier heads have the intake ports closer together, about 3/4" and the later heads are spaced about 1" apart. I believe the earlier heads were about 3.

Chuck, I have one on my TR6 and screwed around with it quite a bit. I tried modifying a TR6 lever and installing a knob from a MGB. That didn't work well at all. I then located a Stag lever and knob.
