I seem to recall that the little doodad that sets the angles of the bowls can be swapped from one carb to the other to give 20 or 30 degrees. Did I dream this up?

Yes, but I think if you have a pair of SUs then the doodads can be swapped. The front and rear bowls each hang on different sides of the carb body.
