Both.....at least on the SU carbs, you will find some Whitworth fasteners. On the B, most everything else seems (I'll be a DPO one day) to be SAE. I can't wait to graduate and get shop equipment.....

Go to the library and get a machinist handbook.... it will tell you (based on the diameter of the shaft) what the diametral interference should be. The only info I have from this book is for 4.73"-5.

This probably won't help much....but did you rebuild the cold start valve when you put the new needles in the carbs? My B (18V-twin SU's) ran horribly even though I had the float levels correct......
