OK, although I don't agree I understand most of the picks, but how come '61-65 on E-types?, Series II with less HP and worse looks wasn't introduced until '68. Wasn't the 4.2 and better gearbox intro

Yes should go on when you turn the key to turn ignition on, off when running unless idle is really low. I guess this was in the nature of a warning light to show that your generator was not working?
