I work at GM truck plant. Vortec heads were used from about 87 on up whe= they went to one-pc rear main seals too. The Vortec name on engine was/is pushed more as advertising/labeling now than before

Ryan, It DON'T come apart. Shaft and housing is one pc all the way to steering wheel. You have to remove steering arm (with puller only) and steering wheel and probly shift linkage or at least handle

Adjusting bands is no longer a service for auto trans's. In 50's and some into early=0D 60's with old designs needed that, no more. Service is changing oil and filter now and maybe seals. =0D =0D --O
