I doubt it's an ignition problem. You probably have some sort of fuel mixture or fuel delivery problem. First and foremost, when you did your tune up, did you adjust your carbs? You have to do this

I would definitely not use a single row bearing for the rear axle. There are 2 row bearings widely available from the usual sources. I have not seen anyone carry the old style 13 ball bearing types.
