Simple answer is no, the stem length is wrong. While the valve head diameter is the same betwen a late TR6 and a post 75 1500 head so the same unleaded insert can be used, the stem length of a six cy

Just a thought, are you running a 6 volt coil without a ballast resistor? If so it will give this problem John Kipping.
