Arc the shoes after you turn the drum. Then be very careful and do not allow any grease or oil of any nature in the brake shoe and drum, this means even finger prints. You'll see a definite improveme

I can remember have our 80 ton press involved with removing the hubs. Lots of pressure then a great whack with a copper hammer was needed to remove the parts. It was found the two parts, hub and axle
