You swapped the front TS assemblies, right? I'm guessing the problem is in the rears. Try swapping the rear TS bulbs. For some reason you're not getting enough current flow in the left side. -- Kevin

Definitely do not paint it flat black. The engine compartment should be painted with the same paint as the body. I did mine with a brush and noone can tell. It looks like it was sprayed the same time
