That's correct Terje (the smaller/narrower one). Just connect a temporary lead from the positive terminal of the battery and touch the smaller terminal of the generator several times. That should do

Well, I'm no chemist... but normal air is already roughly 80% nitrogen, so I'd think any benefits related to the chemical characteristics would be minimal (expansion / leaking due to molecule size).
