My ignition seems to be self-advancing. I'll have it timed perfectly, then after a couple of days it will start pinging a little, so I'll retard it slightly with the adjusting nut on the distributor

Cliff, Those immobile car moves are what finally did my TR6 in. My wife wouldn't allow the third such move, so I had to sell her... the car that is. Of course I wasn't making any progress with mine.

The gauges I'm looking at are all flat glass TR4 gauges. photo I have no idea... one of the metric gauges is my own. It only goes up to 100C. The "Original Triumph" shows TR4's with both the metric
