Some power is required to pump air into the exhaust system. There is nothing in the exhaust that would be able to create additional power from the air, so there can be now power benefit from it.

There are a few options: Use a tap and die set to rethread it with a larger size bolt. Have the hole welded up, drill it out and use the tap and die to make the same size bolt hole I have never used

In my experience, the speedo will actually be different if you want it to read correctly. IIRC the OD speedo is a 1280 speedo, I think the other is a 1000. The cable length didn't cause me any grief
