your solex car will go faster in fouth gear than in 5th the other car that tops out at 4000 rpms has a problem somewhere. may be fuel or ing or a comnbination of both, or some internal engine problem

After the postings on head thickness of 4.530 as not cut , i measured a new head it was 4.560 , but then thought that maybe the last run of new heads happened to be thicker than the original heads..
