Hmmm, are you sure? I would say my 66 seats are also tapered; meaning, asymmetrically shaped (very subtly) to clear the tunnel. And the squabs for my 66 are visually the same shape as on, say, a 69,

I guess I am not following you at all. If you jack up the car via the differential, the springs are loaded just the same as if the car is sitting on the ground; i.e. 50% of the weight is on the rear

The high-end kits seem to come with SPAX. The low-end kit I have (Wheelwright, no longer available) came with no-name Brazilian shocks. There is no reason you couldn't use Konis if you can find ones
