That's it. The base tube is threaded into the axle housing. The cap is separate and probably rotates freely, so you have to grab it by the base. It's plastic so don't bear down with the visegrips <g>

Well, IIRC, the only alignment attribute that can be adjusted on an MGB is toe-in. So that doesn't leave a lot of latitude for auto-x tuning <g>. If you want negative camber I think you're looking at

It should NEVER be engaged when backing up. The safety switch is supposed to turn it off anytime the lever is not in 3rd or 4th gear, but that is assuming the safety switch is functioning correctly.
