I know it's a BE, Phil and you know it's a BE, but Dr. Larry seems to think it may have a 1500 gearbox that takes gear oil rather than motor oil. Could it be that Dr. Larry is losing his marbles?!! }

definitely gear oil in the Datsun conversion however, it can be synthetic or the old stuff. The old stuff gives you the best synchro action which is understandable considering the old stuff is what
