I'm using DOT 5 and will never go back - but you do have to replace ALL the seals to switch. DOT 4 is better than DOT 3 but I do not believe it will cure the 'sponge' problem. You will need to rebuil

While I agree it is quite possible to modify a B intake manifold to fit 1.5inch carbs on a Sprite, you can also go to Moss UK and buy one that fits the HS2/HS4 dual carbs. Yes GBP 110. is steep, but
