Way to go Mayf! The most obvious reason why you can't exceed 5200 rpm is you need more horsepower to go faster. I assume you get more horsepower at higher rpms, so the obvious solution is lower gears

Lack of horsepower is the only reason I can think of for not going faster. Theo, If Mayf knows the engine should be putting out enough HP @ 5200 rpm to go faster than 180, then he needs to fix what'

I have the same problem almost that bad on my driver's side. No shims on that side, but get about 4.5 degrees of caster. Two possibilities, either the stub axle is bent or the crossmember is tweaked

You could learn a lot from dynoing the engine as is first. If you replace the springs first, you'll never know if the valves were floating until the next run at Bonneville. Knowing the HP @5200 rpm

20W-50 "multi-grade" means it behaves like 20W at room temperature and 50W when it's hot; i.e., not as much change in viscosity as a straight 20W. Multi-grades break down faster than single weight oi

I would take a longer 3/8" UNF bolt and see how deep in can be screwed in. It's very likely the threads are at least 3/4" deep. If not, you can grind 1/8" off of your 3/4" long grade 8 bolts. My mac

I can't help but imagine how embarrassed he would be in a 1/4 mile matchup with this Acura RX that puts out 570 HP at 8,000 rpm. What matters is torque at the rear wheels, not the engine, and that's

Could this be the one? Jim, May I suggest the Crane XR-I electronic conversion kit (JEGS,SUMMIT)'s about $65.00. The great thing about it is it has a built in rev limiter that you can adjust from 400

Recognize that 1/2 the pedal pressure also means 2X the pedal travel. If you still have the original rear shoe brakes - and especially if you use Alpine slave cylinders - you will need to keep them

The master cylinder and slave cylinder bores have nothing to do with the force on the pressure plate bolts - just the pressure on your foot. --Original Message-- From: tigers-bounces+rpalmerbob=roadr

That's a very plausible theory, although might it have broken with the standard bores anyway. The bolt that broke was not the pressure plate to flywheel attaching bolts, but was instead a bolt on the
