Well I guess I would have considered that except they appeared to be about 1/8 " in diameter and burned in their with a torch instead of drilled, don't most exhaust temp probes screw into the header?

There has to be some simple way to tie vehicle speed to tire speed, read the difference and simply turn on a light when the differential exceeded a given factor. the rest being up to the drivers righ
