Dave I have had 3 (out of 4) Apple rebuilts blow out in no time. Peter C <nosimport@mailbag.com> showed me why Apples blow out and his do not. Peter fully rebuilds them the correct way. Apple cheats.

I remove the carbs complete with intake still attached. This keeps the choke and accellerator cable in tact which is probably the toughest part of the job if you remove the carbs from the intake. Usi
