There is nothing in a shock to squeak unless it's out of oil then I still don't think it will squeak. Do check the bolts holding it to the car, they do loosen up sometimes. Most likely it's a squeak

The 948 used a shorter t/stat. Original Smiths was a really weird stat. But your basic chevy t/stat fits all other A series engines and even the 948 if you use the later, taller stat cover. I recomme
