tight? Since we're talking clearance, doesn't bigger mean looser? and How about the rope rear seal. If not prepared properly it will clamp the crank real hard when you torque up that rear main cap.

As an indorsement, the CDM paint when applied to a properly prepped block will last for years. I used Dupont 5717s metal conditioner on my block in '96 and and then painted it and it still looks goo
