We always mount with rubber shim washers with large (1/2 to 1.0 inch head ) rivets to prevent cracking. Fyi. Lexan will crack if flexed or riveted as well. Trust me....I have two cracked Lexan shield

don't use graphite or carbon fiber for ballistic impact constraint. It doesn't work. Always line it with glass or kevlar. It's a long story ....but early composites in aircraft struggled for years un

I concur with Fred. My earlier email assumed we were talking "blankets" which usually have a dry glass "sheet" stitched to them (or epoxy cured or bonded for aircraft types). Kevlar as a dry mat does
