My previous question has now become moot. The starter is toast. (Bendix or something -- shaft bouncing in and out) and only pulling about 30-35 Amps. I took the starter off today and had it checked,

Not sure about a 73 but I got a 77 for about $80 at Forest City. I would call some local places and look for a life time guarantee. ...Art
