I disagree that the problem is carburation. The fact that several cylinders are wet indicate that you are getting fuel to those cylinders. I have a few pretty cantankerous MGs (MGA, TD, and J2) and

I checked the plugs and found #1 and #2 dry, #3 and #4 wet with gas... The engine in my MGB is an 18V672Z I have SU carburetors, I think they are HS4's... My compression tests out at 110, 115, 115, 1

Jon, I rebuilt the SU's on my 67 BGT that I got from the PO in not running condition. They were HS4's with the AUD135 tag. I used a kit from Lucas and put in Grose Jets. They were very easy to rebui
