- Tell me - is there any way to remove the grille from a '79 MGB tourer without removing the bumper? I need to: 1) clean up the wiring connectors And 2) install an oil cooler. Thanks Howard Battan '57

- Paul, as far as I can tell, the grille is too wide to just come up and out. Yes, the screws are all accessible, but the bumper mounts are in the way in front, and the body sheet metal is in the way i

- Thanks. I'll give it another shot. I had all the screws removed, but still couldn't get it out. That's been about 2 months ago, so maybe it will work now :^) _____ Howard, Just removed the grill out

- If your car is like mine, there are screws at the top and the bottom of the grille holding it in place. The lower screws should be near the bumper mounts. A magnetic screwdriver helped to get them in

- With all screws removed you may have to push the grill back a little, then tilt the top forward to clear the body, then lift it out. Mine won't lift straight up or pull straight forward without fouli

- Actually, it's not that difficult to remove the bumper assembly. Don't forget to disconnect the parking lamp assemblies...and there *should* be a bolt along each side of the bumper in addition to the
