I was told at the track by someone I met that the more air pressure is given, the tire will have more traction. I thought this sounded weird, but I thought I'd try it out. So, I inflated my 18"s to 3

It is not that simple really. Different brands of tires behave quite differently. One thing that works for sure is decreasing the pressure in your right foot in the middle of the turn. :) --Navid

It does depend on the tire, but in general there is a "sweet spot" which provides the maximum grip. Below that pressure, the tire is too soft and tends to roll over onto the side of the tread and/or

The general rule is more pressure more grip, but unfortunately other factors usually dominate that rule. Sidewall stiffness, longitudinal grip, compliance on rough surfaces, etc. Probably a better on

this is old, outdated advice that applied to street tires from some time ago (70 or 80 sidewall series) that were typically underinflated and rolled over easily on primitive or poorly designed/tuned

I've found a simple technique that seems to work well over the years with different cars & tires. Chalk the corner of the tire and keep dropping the pressures until the tire rolls into the chalk, the

On my EM car, if I lower the front tire pressure by one pound. The front end has more grip, and turns in better. That's my 2c....... What will work for one car may not work for another. It's good to

I suggest that you spend one event finding the "correct" pressure using Michael's method (start high and bleed down -- it's quicker than starting low and pumping up). Perhaps an event at Marina or Ma

tuning steer characteristics with tire pressure is a last-resort measure because it reduces the total grip of the car. in a stock class you dont have many choices; in an SP class, it is better to do
