Chrome / Nickel plated on my 74.5 Can't vouch for the absolute originality of it though. Folks: Looking at cars on eBay got me to wondering... The center console plinth for the vent/heater/fan/choke

My 73 and 74.5 (original AFAIK) is chrome too. Smoothhead, plain slot. I replaced the originals with wider black ones to hold it a little more securely. Jeff _________________________________________

Vance--The '73 has two, chromed head slotted screws here. There's a good chance that those painted black have chrome, or at least shiney metal under the paint. Dick __________________________________

Vance, I bought my 74.5 new (I think it's 27227CF built Dec. '74) and the screws are original. They are pan head, slotted, bright-plate but I wouldn't call it chrome. Probably plain ol' zinc or cad.
