Dear FOT, I would like to thank everyone for all of the fuel pressure responses. The engine is breaking up at about 5,000 RPM at the of the back straight. Before, it has always been the fuel pump (I

I had similar problems in my TR4 and the gauge in the dash always showed pressure. I eventually solved it by putting a 2" o-ring between the manifold and the phenolic spacer. I used a hole saw to cut

Supporting Bob's solution, I know of four TR's that had this problem during the last season -- breakup at about 5000. It is worse on cars that have the engine mounted very solidly - that is, motor mo

HS6 carbs usually solve the vibration problem. No more brass float inside a rigid mounted float chamber. Ted -- Ted Schumacher tedtsimx@bright.net http://www.tsimportedautomotive.com 108 S. Jefferson

Good point from Ted about HS6's being better. I have HS6's, as do most but not all racers. I did not have the problem on my car until very recently. I used the rubber version of the little positionin

Springs (beville washers) work better than the rubber thingies on webers--at least you can remove and replace them more without needing new ones. They probably don't damp like rubber does, but I thin

I use the O-ring sandwich plates from the Pierce Manifold Weber 45DCOE mounting kits, between my carbs and the manifolds. Just need to elongate the mounting holes and they work great. I also have bee

Long ago, when I was devouring everything I could about race car prep, I ran across a passage in the Dave Bean Engineering catalog about mounting DCOEs on four cylinder engines. It ran something like

Thanks for sharing that Chris. I also found it helpful to tie the carbs together with a brace (3 DCOE's in my case). My brace doubles as a mount for the air box. It seems to even out the load on the

Nice idea - really! I use Overdrive springs for the Weber mounting. Take one of the OD springs and cut them into pieces...never failed 'till now. Knock on wood. Chris (TR4 #74)
