The on the shelf VR1 has the ZDDP again. I think oil manufacturers realized that modern cars, which would have had emmission components compromised by ZDDP, just don't call for straight weight 30,40

If you have a Tractor Supply nearby, they have a 2.5 gallon can of Rotella T on sale for $25. $2.50 per quart is pretty reasonable for that oil. They also have their own in-house brand called Travell
