I'd pull the sensor and put it in some hot or boiling water while hooked to your gauge and see what it reads. _______________________________________________ fot@autox.team.net http://www.fot-racing.

Well, that's your first mistake, IMO. For racing, I would definitely replace that thing with a 270 sweep mechanical unit. If this is the stock TR6 gauge, I would suspect the voltage stabilizer; whic

But be careful what you try to shoot with it. I have one, and while it works well enough on the radiator tanks, it gives readings that are all over the place from the thermostat housing or radiator

Infrared gauges are precise on colored surfaces like a black coated radiator or rubber hoses. If you try to measure polished metal surfaces you will get much lower readings which has something to do

Definitely verify the actual temperature. I have seen many new sending units for MGB and TR6 that read high. Bill DeWar NJTA -- Original Message -- From: "MadMarx" <tr4racing@googlemail.com> To: "'Fr

I wouldn't use an infrared gauge on tires if you are trying to get three points on the tire. You really need a probe. jim g How are they on tires? _______________________________________________ fot@

the though of narrower rods at the big end region worries me. I run an engine shop, and know from bitter experience, that excessive side clearance at the big end, is a major source of engine rattles

As I recall, the voltage stabilizer also supplies the voltage for the fuel gauge in the stock setup, at least on the TR4-A. So if it's the voltage stabilizer you would also have erratic readings on t

Wow...the vintage rules must be more liberal than ever if they are now allowing alternate length rods. SCCA hasB limited prep which require stock rods and cranks, stock suspension pickup points, etc.
