Another thing I don't understand. At the link of the rear swaybar there is a little coil spring between the rubber bits. For what is that coil spring? Wouldn't the spring weaken the efficiency of the

I'm using the regular Porterfield R-4, not the vintage version. The vintage pads are made to work at very low temperatures. Before giving up on Porterfield, I'd suggest trying the full race version.
