Hey all, In the stash of Spitfire bits that I picked up recently was a Judson electronic magneto (for positive ground car). I'm curious about this thing, but not so curious as to replace my coil with

What does the ground polarity of the car's electrical system have to do with the magneto? The mag produces its own power independant of the car's electrical system. And anyway, the current flow from

The Judson *ELECTRONIC* magneto is not a true magneto. It's not connected to a source of motive power, and hence does not generate it's own electricity. Instead, it's a transistorized electronic ign

I've not used a Judson, but I did try a similar unit that used the stock coil. It's basically just a "points amplifier" with a high-output coil. Somewhat better than the stock setup, but mostly in t

You beat me to the punch John. I have no idea what a positive ground magneto might be since there are NO WIRES to connect to ground. Of course the mag uses it's case as ground, but magnetos put out A

Ahh--I get it, it's not a real magneto. It's an electronic ignition system that's pretending to be a mag. Bill Babcock billb@bnj.com bnj Website for Babcock & Jenkins, a direct and interactive agency

The Judson unit is not a "Magneto" it is an electronic ignition unit with solid state components that are polarity sensitive. Greg Solow -- Original Message -- From: "John Herrera" <jrherrera90@hotma
