A friend in Chicago had the same experience a couple of years ago. The trailer was later found, tools gone, but car still inside. The police guessed that the thieves were really after the trailer and

Did the car have a logbook? Which race organization? Logbook number? This info may also be helpful to race organizations. I suspect that the chassis numbers are no longer there since it is a racecar
