Yup. Had the same problem. One of the wires has come adrift and is separating when the motor is hot. Probably the stator wire, but I'm not sure. You can take it apart and solder it, but you might be

The problem is the solid wire from the windings out into the solenoid area of the starter.B I put in a short length of stranded 16 gauge wire in the starters I sell to eliminate this problem. Ron Kra

I've seen a problem with that solution. The stranded wire I've seen is made of fine braided wires and with the sharp angle the wire makes the fine wires break eventually losing the connection. Bob Kr

IMO, some of the cylinder blocks are simply cut wrong. My street 3A has a block from a 56 TR3 that is even worse than that; about .001" on one side and .004" to .005" on the other. I went through a
