The way I adjust the valves on the Spit is to first loosen all the jam nuts. Rotate the engine until two of the valves are fully open or nearly so. Then adjust the mirror image valves of the two that

Nice. Normally the way I do valves is turn the crank until the intake and exhaust for some cylinder are 'on the rock' where the exhaust is just about closed and the intake just starting to open. Then
