Simon, in my humble opinion coating the thread with PTFE tape will not have any effect. The nipple seals with its tapered end in a tapered bore and once the bleed screw is closed there is no way air

You definitely don't want to use teflon tape on your brake system, it can be a safety risk. You should have proper seal at the unions. Two questions: 1). Did you replace the brake lines? 2) Can you
