I used the vinegar method of cleaning out the cooling system just a couple of weeks ago on my '62 BT-7, which gets up to about 212 degrees in stop-and-go traffic with ambient temperatures in the 75-

I wouldn't run without a lubricant in the coolant (e.g. soluble oil, water wetter, a/f, etc.). Commercial products should have some type of lubrication if they're meant to be kept in for awhile. bs -
