I have used taller stems. They work ok, but if you have wing mirrors over the wheel well, then the extended stem mirror will block the far wing mirror from view. Alan '52 A90 '53 BN1 '64 BJ8 ________

it's easier to use one of the mfg risers from don lenschow (drtrite.com) OR MOSS. you can even get one that contains a clock. kit comes with the long screws needed. cheers, jerry -- jerry wall BN6 ro

I did just that on my 1st BJ8 back in the day. I used a combo of MGB roadster fittings for the bracketry and the XKE day/nite slidding mirror. The MGB dash top mount fits the OE mirror holes perfectl

These sliding mirrors are used on several cars e.g. MGB. Perhaps as a accessoire but they do work very well. With a bit of ingenuity you can also make an adaption for your TomTom/Garmin/etc. system.
