Help needed: Cully Anderson and I were touring the Napa wine country this morning and when he started his 100 six after a stop. It started but produced a loud grinding noise with the engine running.

Hi John, try turning the square on the end of the shaft under the metal cap. When you turn the motor backwards the bendix will pull the gear out of mesh. Michael Salter 100 (1953) #174 AHX12 (1953) B
