To the wise men (again) I know this has been discussed often and I hate to bring it up again but there seems to be no general agreement on whether it is best to install the engine and tranny as a uni

Brad, I have done this job twice. I would say it is easier to install the engine first, then the gearbox. You will be queasy enough with that 600 or 700 pound engine hanging and swaying above your al

If you have both of them out, it is considerably easier (although easy is a relative term here) to install them as unit. If you have something like a tilt lift to go with your engine crane it can act

Hi Brad, IMHO It is much easier and quicker, overall, to install them together. I used a team of 4: 1 inside the engine bay and later inside the car, 1 on each side to guide it and 1 controlling the

Yes the two can be installed together. I have done it 2-3 times that way and once the other way and is still iffy. I would suggest that you line the engine bay with carpet remnants or heavy blankets

Yikes! It's 20 degrees F here in Bath, ME. With the lousy weather coming in next week, today is the last trip of the year for my Healey. Now if I could just get the heater valve on the block to budge

Hi Brad I removed and later reinstalled them as one unit (with the shroud off). I purchased the lift brackets that attach to the rocker studs. I didn't have access to a tilting mechanism, so I set th

I opted to install the motor/gearbox as one unit in my BJ7. It went in that way at the factory and came out that way during the restoration so felt pretty confident that it could be done. ;) Below a
