my brother just put a new wiring harness in his bj8 and the tach will not work. works fine in another bj8 so it is some kind of wiring anomoly. the loop goes around the post correctly,(at least it is

I have exactly the same problem and the loop has been tried both ways. The tach works fine on a bench test. It's a fresh rebuild done by Nissongers. It's got an excellent earth which has been confirm
