- To keep your sanity the max speed is about 50mph, a bit less for the diesel. With a squeeze the diesel may reach 60mph, the petrol version about 65mph. Lethal with these machines. You do need ear pro

- I did a similar drive in a petrol powered series III 88. Fort Benning to Sebring, FL and then to Albuquerque. A diesel 109 will probably be capable of 60 mph on the flat once it gets rolling. Downhil
