Oliver, get rid of those original fuel lines as soon as possible. They are dangerous and fire is a likely result...go with the Moss or AS fuel lines as they have teflon tubing in side the metal sleev

Originally, they were rubber lines, with woven metal covering. They would leak when you took the carbs off to repair something, as they would crack once exposed to air. Change them out for new ones f

I changed out the old rubber lines for stainless some years ago for these same reasons. I also recall that you run less chance of incurring vapor lock with the braided stainless lines, but not sure
