My solution has been to block off the entire valve as it is a potential source of vacuum leak. The less green just rout the crankcase breather, via a long hose, down under the car. Why? Adding oil va

Maybe, from a technical standpoint, but I really doubt it *effectively* lowers the octane. Unless you have a major crankcase pressurization problem, like bad rings, you'd only be talking a few parts
